Salaspils Cālis 2026: a photo newspaper at a kids’ event

“Mūzikas ziņas”: a special edition for a young singers’ contest in Salaspils. Every child got their own front page. April 2026.

On 11 April 2026 Salaspils kultūra held the young singers’ contest “Salaspils Cālis 2026”. The youngest talents from all over Latvia went on stage, and after their performance each child got their own newspaper: a special edition of “Mūzikas ziņas” (Music News) with their photo on the front page.

We took the photos in Salaspils by a stone wall at the venue. The newspaper has the contest name, the date, a story about the young talents, the jury and the motto “Let little voices carry far!”; at the bottom are the words “talented, brave, shining”. Each page went into a clear sleeve so the child could carry it home safely.
